The IPaq 4150 - released as the thinnest and lightest pocket PC on the market to include integrated Wi_Fi and Bluetooth connectivity – is HP’s latest PDA that offers more features for less money. The IPaq 4150 is value for money for the entry-level enthusiast who needs easy connectivity as well as for the busy mobile professional. As far as technical specifications go, you don’t need much more than what the slim, elegant IPaq 4150 is offering – an Intel PXA255 XScale processor running at 400 MHz, with 32mb of Flash ROM and 64mb of RAM. (Incidentally, the Intel processor is an upgrade from Samsung’s 226MHz that was used in the 4150’s predecessors.) HP’s IPaq 4150 has a 16-bit color screen, the quality of which has been much praised by users and reviewers, a battery life of 12 hours, an SD card slot in case you want to add accessories, HP’s superb D-pad navigation, and bells and whistles in the form of two LEDs on the side of the device. One LED notifies you of events like incoming messages and warns if the battery is low and the other activates when Bluetooth or Wi-Fi are enabled. The device ships with the usual software, including Word, Excel, Windows Mobile 2003 for pocket PC, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Players. You can load Adobe PDF Viewer, RealOne Player, Microsoft Outlook, etc., from the accompanying CD. You can also download free, trial and shareware software compatible with IPaq 4150s from the internet. The only criticism of the IPaq 4150 may be the lack of keyboard, but you can connect one separately, if you wish.
