The HP IPaq 4155 is as close to perfection as a pocket PC gets – high technology in a sleek, powerful handheld that looks as good as it performs. The simplicity of the HP IPaq 4155’s ultra-slim design belies the numerous features under the cover. This device was designed for functional, independent computing on the go; that it looks pretty sexy too is a bonus and well worth its slightly higher price compared to other pocket PC’s in the same category. The HP IPaq 4155 is similar in design to the H1910 – it’s intuitive to use with a user-friendly interface that appeals to the visual sense. The large color screen takes up most of the front of the device, so you’re not going to need glasses to navigate. Clarity, according to Hewlett Packard, is due to transflective technology. Also, the annoying yellow screen tint that users of the H1940 complained about has gone. Small LED’s on other side of the Power button blink in different colors depending on what you’re doing; for instance, charging, or using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Powered by Intel's PXA255 XScale processor running at 400MHz, the HP IPaq 4155 runs the Professional Edition of Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC and comes with 64MB Ram. With so much processing power it uses more battery power than its predecessors, but it has a higher battery capacity too that is both rechargeable and replaceable. Integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with a selection of profiles and a Secure Digital (SDIO) slot round out the HP IPaq 4155’s powerful features and make this a pocket PC which really does function as a mobile office. Incidentally, if you’re on a budget, consider a refurbished model, which you’ll find for at least $100 less than the recommended retail price.
