Imagine being able to watch a movie, sport, news, TV programs, or anything else you can fit on a DVD, anywhere, anytime. You can now. Pocket PC movies are the new rage. The software to convert the movies is inexpensive and can be downloaded from the internet. Pocket PC movies are simply movies you copy from the DVD player on your desktop PC to your hand-held. Forget that hulking great brute of a home theatre in the corner of your living room with all those unsightly cables collecting dust. Forget noisy movie houses. Forget even portable DVD players - portable for King Kong maybe. Pocket PC movies are new, cool and practical. You can fit your pocket PC in your bag or pocket and be entertained wherever you are. You can watch movies waiting in a queue; take movies of Little Johnny's first steps over the granny on Sunday and keep the children amused in their rooms when you're busy. The internet also offers thousands of pocket PC movies and clips you can copy and view later; some of these are free, for others you will pay a small fee. Very useful was a short clip I recently downloaded for my son to use at school for a presentation on brown bears. For a family with children, this is a fine example of taking advantage of technology to educate and stimulate young minds. There are also web sites that create free movies specifically for pocket PCs to demonstrate their power and versatility. Do I hear career opportunity for when Little Johnny grows up?
