PDA cell phones, also called SmartPhones, are a compact, mobile way to run applications, organize your life and connect to the internet. PDA cell phones combine all the cell phone features you'd expect, including digital cameras sometimes, with selected PDA features, and are the hottest emerging trend, particularly for bright young things, as they combine cool with high technology. This is seriously trendy street smart science. PDA cell phones are like miniature computers. You can download your favorite software onto your handheld and use your address book, calendar and GPS system on the go, as well as connect to the internet at any time. And, of course, you can use a PDA cell phone to make calls and use the same features you've been used to on your 'normal' cell phone - like caller-id, sms'ing, voice messaging and unique ring tones. And your mom thought cordless was a good idea! When selecting PDA cell phones, users need to distinguish between Windows and Palm operating systems. Although both are technically different, it's a personal preference; the software you're used to using is probably the best criteria you could use to decide which option you're going to take. Palm claims to be faster, while Windows claims to have a wider range of applications. PDA cell phones are high in price and some critics argue they don't offer enough features for the professional to warrant doing away with his or her regular PDA, but there's a market out there - for instance, teenagers and housewives or househusbands (with cash) who don't need high-powered business applications on their cell phones. And, while heavier than a normal phone, a PDA cell phone is still lighter and more convenient than carrying around two devices on a business trip or to the store.
