If your PDA is broken or not working correctly, it can always be a gamble on whether to take advantage of the warrantee and return it, buy a PDA part and try to fix it yourself, or pay for someone to repair it. There are several options available to you and these are discussed below, but probably the most important factor will be the price of the PDA parts and the total price at the end of the day. If the PDA is still under warrantee, then you might be able to get it replaced for free or a minimal cost. You will have to consider sending your PDA back to the shop you purchased it from. Alternatively some manufacturers now want you to call an 800 number and instruct you to post the PDA back to their nearest service outlet, instead of you returning it to the store you purchased it from. Be aware that shipping on PDAs or PDA parts is sometimes picked up at your expense. Another option is to purchase the PDA part and do the repairs yourself. But remember you are likely to void any manufactures warrantee that came with the PDA. Still this can be a cheap option and depending on the extent of the problem, you might be able to have your PDA up and running fairly quickly. You could also look at sending your PDA of to a repair shop, but then you are likely to incur large charges for the labor time and PDA parts. You would also be wise to check that the repair shop offers some sort of warrantee/guarantee with their work.
