What can I use a Palm PDA for and how can I justify buying one to my spouse?

With today's ever advancing technology, the price of electronic components keeps dropping. This is making it more and more affordable to purchase such devices as Personal Digital Assistants like a Palm PDA. A few of the commonly used features of the Palm PDA is to remind you of appointments, store and write memos, track and organize phone numbers and email addresses, and play games.

The information on the Palm PDA can be synchronized and/or backed up to a computer. To load new applications and documents onto the Palm you can either link it up to a computer (or laptop) and download the application or use the Palms infrared port to transfer files between other Palms. The Infrared port can also be used to print documents to a printer with an infrared port.

Other uses for a PDA include: reading e-books, city map and street directions, playing movies and MP3s, shopping lists, storing birthdays, tracking mileage... the list goes on.
